Good Grief

Good Who should read this book?

Although the book shares a great deal of loss that I experienced, the primary take away is my story of perseverance, the power of prayer and positive affirmation. To encourage anyone that no matter what they can make it through. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not keep you. It’s a great book of inspiration for those that are going through grief, however, a tool for all that could simply use that reminder that they too can do ALL through Christ who strengthens us.

What to expect from my memoir?

I share a very vulnerable story about the highs and lows of my life. You’ll be in awe from the experiences that I’ve encountered that will make you say “Good Grief”. You learn how I view life’s tribulation’s through an optimistic lens, which is one of the reasons I chose the title and oxymoron “Good Grief”. I know that you will be inspired and I pray that you are able to take away that if I can make it though so many of life’s unexpectancies, that no matter what life brings your way, you too can make it.

What do you see when you look at the cover?

The cover of the book is more than pretty graphics/scenery. It’s my second home, my mother and all of my maternal family were born in Bermuda and most currently live there. The beach on the cover is one of the main tourist attractions on the island, Horeshoe Bay Beach. That beach is where my late grandfather walked/jogged everyday util he turned 90 years old. It’s also where I took my mother’s cremations to spread at her request. She wanted her final resting place to not only be her home but be where she (and I must say I agree) called the prettiest place on earth. Lastly, it’s the same beach that my husband took his last breath on. So needless to say, my view of the cover of my book is a smidgen different from what you may see.

Author spotlight

October 25, 2015 My Mother Passed, Beverly Patricia Christie. When my mother passed, a piece of me passed that day. She battled Colon Rectal Cancer, she had a large piece of her colon removed and was given a temporary ostomy bag. The doctor’s reversed the Ostomy bag three months later. We went back for her annual colon check; the cancer was still there. She underwent another surgery; they removed more of her colon and her entire rectum and gave her a permanent ostomy bag. I do not recall her ever being able to sit down comfortably, ever again. She underwent numerous rounds of Chemotherapy, Radiation and more Chemotherapy until her Oncologist told her that there was nothing else that she could do. She released her to Hospice at that time.
